Our Mission
The General’s Daughter Initiative is a mission-driven nonprofit focused on preserving the stories and legacies of military veterans through Voices That Remain, a video testimonial project provided at no cost to veterans and their families. Our mission is to ensure veterans have the opportunity to record a professionally produced keepsake video that captures their military career, lived experiences, values, and personal reflections—creating a lasting connection for their loved ones.
We seek grant funding and donations to make this service accessible to veterans who might otherwise never have the opportunity to document their stories. Many veterans, particularly those living with trauma, find it easier to share their experiences in a respectful, structured setting with trained interviewers. Voices That Remain creates that space, honoring each veteran’s voice with dignity, care, and high-quality storytelling.
This work is deeply personal. The initiative was inspired by my own father—“The General”—a military veteran and media professional whose career as a reporter and news anchor was rooted in storytelling and truth. Though he did not live to meet my children, they are able to learn from him, connect with him, and hear his voice through the professionally created videos he left behind. Voices That Remain exists to offer that same priceless gift to other veteran families—ensuring their stories, wisdom, and legacy endure for generations.
